Musa Yar’Adua pays tribute to father 10 years after demise

Making 10years anniversary of his father's death, Musa Yar’Adua, son of the late President Umar Yar’Adua, on Tuesday, wrote a tribute to his father. 
The late President passed on in May 2010 after battling with an ailment.

In a two-part tweet on Tuesday, the junior Yar’Adua said a prayer for his late dad.

He tweeted, “A prayer for my late father. We miss you❤:
.
“Our Lord! Not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire [3:191].
.
“Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous [3:193].”

Residents of Ogidi ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara have called on the state government to rescue them from perennial darkness occasioned by a faulty transformer servicing three communities in the area. The residents made the call in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ilorin and signed by Baba Malu and AAbdulkharim Dende, Joint Chairmen of Alawo, Ajibesin and Olayeri communities. According to the statement, there is only one transformer providing electricity to the three communities. Kaduna records two more deaths from coronavirus

The Kaduna State Government says it has recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths. Governor Nasir El-Rufai  stated this in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, adding that the two latest fatalities included a senior citizen from Makarfi and a lady from Zaria. In the tweet, released at 11.04 p.m. on Saturday, the governor revealed that two more persons had tested positive in the state, bringing the active COVID-19 cases to 87. He said the two new cases were a male from Igabi and a female from Chikun Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. The state recorded its first reported COVID-19 related deaths on May 2, when a patient, a retired civil servant, who reportedly concealed his travel history to Kano, died before the result of his test was out. The state government had raised an alarm that the majority of COVID-19 cases in the state had travel history and that illegal inter-state travel was widening the spread of COVID-19 in the state. Zamfara police partner ex-bandits, rescue 12 kidnap victims – Official

The police command in Zamfara has rescued 12 kidnap victims through the collaboration of repentant bandits in the state. This was contained in a statement signed by Shehu Mohammed, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday. Mr Mohammed said that the victims who were kidnapped from Farar Kasa and Sabon Birni villages, were rescued two weeks after with the assistance of the repentant bandits. According to him, the repentant bandits assisted the police in trailing the abductors to their hideouts. He said that the Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo, while handing over the victims to the Zamfara State Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Abubakar Dauran, commended the repentant bandits for keeping to their promise in supporting  Governor Bello Matawalle ’s peace and reconciliation initiative.
